Do you teach social studies? Do you want to learn social studies? This website is for you. I'm a former high school social studies teacher dedicated to providing you engaging, accurate, and interesting resources to help you teach (or learn) social studies!
Here you'll find classroom-ready lessons, PD tools, and practical support , all built by a teacher who’s been there.
These are some of my most popular resources that I've made for my own high school social studies classroom. They're ready-to-use and fun! Check them out:
These are just a few of the hundreds of resources I have created over the years. If you're hungry for more, check out my resource library:
History is a social studies class. I thought everybody knew that but I was at a dinner with some friends and they actually had no idea that social studies and history were connected. Social studies is the study of society. So that includes all the history classes, Psychology, Economics, Government, Geography, etc. Really anything that has to do with the study of society / humans. Which I think makes it the most interesting subject.
Well, my students call me 'Ms. Allen' & I like to think I'm in charge ;)
I firmly believe that social studies shouldn't be boring. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to make complex topics exciting and meaningful and now, I want to help make your teaching journey a little easier.
I'm passionate about education, and I believe social studies is one of the most important subjects we teach. It helps students understand the world and the people in it. That’s how real change starts.
Over the years I've built up quite a collection of short, student-friendly videos that explain core social studies concepts, from how the brain works to budgeting basics. If I couldn't find a video online that I wanted, I made one.
You can use them to supplement your lessons, flip your classroom, or just give your voice a break while still delivering clear instruction.
I have a lot of friends who are teachers. We tended to hang out a lot in the summers when everyone else was working. LOL
Because of that, I've been gathering wisdom and knowledge about things like, classroom management, best practices for lesson planning, what to do when you feel overwhelmed, etc. I want to create a resource for teachers who are new and who are maybe drowning a little bit. I can help.
The course is still in the development stages, but you can read more about it here:
